The National Fire and Protection Association has acted as a sponsor of the National Electrical Code since 1911.The original Code document was developed in 1897 as a result of the united efforts of various insurance,electrical,architectural,and allied interests.It is made available for a wide variety of both public and private uses in the interest of life and property protection.
The National Electrical Code book lists the minimum safety and fire protection standard for installing electrical wiring and equipment.The Code book is revised and updated about every 3 years to include new wiring methods,new devices,and new safety standards.The Code book is about 830 pages long and covers any and all electrical installations.
Ohms Law
In 1827 George Simon Ohm discovered some laws relating to the strength of a current in a wire.Since you cannot visually see the flow of current in a wire we use Ohms law to see the relationship between voltage,current,and resistance in mathematical terms.
